FIRST LEGO LEAGUE GR 5 -7Guided by adult Coaches, FIRST LEGO League teams (up to 10 members per team, grades 5-7) research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. This year’s teams will be working on the physical and social problems of space travel! Students then present the problem they tackled and their solution at the competition. In addition to their research project, students must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®. Students then compete on a table-top playing field, completing as many space themed missions as possible in order to earn points. We need all different kinds of students on our team! All skill levels are welcomed and needed, technical or non-technical. Teams need all kinds of skills and creativity to succeed, so what are you good at? Chances are we have a job for you. And we’ll probably teach you a few new ones while you’re with us.A chance to shine! Each FIRST LEGO League season culminates with regional tournaments and championships where teams show off what they learned and invented, and compete with their robots. FIRST LEGO League team members and adult coaches and volunteers all agree – season-ending events are the most amazing, inspiring experiences they’ve ever had. Where else can you make new friends, share ideas, solve problems on the fly, compete like crazy, and get pumped up over technology all while having the time of your lives?Adult Volunteers NeedRegistration will be capped at the first 20 participants, participants who participated on a team last year, will have first priority to register.
