Swimming Lesson Registration W-M Community Education offers a comprehensive, year round water instruction program to community members 6months of age to adult. Aquatics programs include a wide range of activities including fitness, lifeguard training and certification, lap swimming, and group rentals. Aquatics program provide opportunities for participants to learn to swim, sway to stay fit and engage in family fun.

    WASK Swim Level Descriptions: BLUE 1: This is an entry level group where swimmers learn the fundamentals of competitive swimming in a positive, fun, and supportive team environment. The goal of Blue 1 is to instill a love for swimming while focusing on teamwork, fundamentals and technique. In this group, swimmers will learn each of the four strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle) and work on developing their starts and turns. When ready, Blue 1 swimmers are encouraged to swim 1-2 swim meets during the swim season. Swimmers can join as young as 5 years old and once they have completed Level 3 swimming lessons or are able to swim one length of the pool freestyle or backstroke (25 yards) Practices consist of roughly 500-800 yards Blue 1 is a 45 minute practice session during the Fall & Winter seasons BLUE 2: This is an age level group where swimmers will build on the skills learned in Blue 1 in a positive, fun and supportive team environment. The goal of Blue 2 is to nurture the swimmers love for the sport while focusing on developing sound technique through the use of more complex swimming drills and training sets with an emphasis on stroke mechanics and aerobic development. Blue 2 swimmers are encouraged to swim 2-4 swim meets during the swim season. Swimmers must have the ability to swim a 200 IM (50 Butterfly, 50 Backstroke, 50 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle) with 3 out of the 4 strokes performed legally working towards the 4th! Practices consist of roughly 1,000-2,000 yards Blue 2 is a 60 minute practice session during the Fall & Winter seasons BLUE 3: This is a senior level group where swimmers will work to perfect their technique in a positive, fun and supportive team environment. The goal of Blue 3 is to continue to foster the swimmers love for the sport, while focusing on building both aerobic and anaerobic capacity to help the swimmer attain their maximum potential. Swimmers are expected to be 100% committed and focused during the season and during each practice. Difficult sets will be performed while working on the most advanced skills so the swimmer can learn to perform at their highest level of competition. Blue 3 swimmers are encouraged to swim 4-6 swim meets during the swim season. Swimmers must be able to swim a 400 yard IM and a 500 yard Freestyle legally Swimmers must be at least 10 years old to participate in Blue 3 Practices consist of swimming roughly 3,000-4,500 yards Blue 3 is a 90 minute practice session during the Fall & Winter season MONTHLY FEE: BLUE 1 MONTHLY=$80 BLUE 2 MONTHLY=$91 BLUE 3 MONTHLY=$103 Practice Times: Blue 1 6:00-6:45 p.m. Blue 2 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Blue 3 6:00-7:30 p.m. Pool Guidelines: Swimmers and parents/guardians should follow CDC recommended hygiene practices at all times and wear a face mask when any swimmers/parents are out of the water and in the facility. Masks are required to enter the building. Health screening will be done on all individuals in the pool. One parent is allowed in the pool area while independent swimmers are in the water. Siblings are not allowed unless they are waiting for their session. No one is allowed to wander the upper or lower pool deck, or in the building. A social distance area is marked and are required to be observed at all times. Locker Rooms and showers will not be available. Restrooms will be available for an emergency only. Please ensure your swimmer is ready to swim when they enter the pool. Beginning Swimmers parents are required to participate in the water while social distancing between other parent/swimmer groups A minimum of 6 students is required to run each session
