  • Splish Splash! The Music of Bobby Darin

Splish Splash! The Music of Bobby Darin Once again, we’re in for a change of pace. Today we’ll begin with an included buffet lunch at the Pizza Ranch in Waite Park. Then we’ll head for the St. Cloud Paramount Theatre for Splish Splash! The Music of Bobby Darin. Bobby Darin: Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor in film and television. He performed in a range of music genres, including jazz, pop, rock ’n’ roll, folk, swing and country. It has been said that had he lived, he would have been more famous than Frank Sinatra. In this special show, Vegas entertainer Ron Gartner honors the Darin legacy… singing the songs of the swingin-est guy who ever put on a tux…in a show that covers everything from Darin’s rock ’n’ roll days to the evening at the Copa (with a slight detour into Country, Folk and Political Activism). Finger-snappin’ songs like Mack the Knife, Dream Lover, Beyond the Sea, Artificial Flowers, If I Were a Carpenter, Clementine, That’s All, and many more!
  • The California Songbook

The California Songbook I’m thinking this will be a really good show! This era had some really great music! We’ll begin with an included buffet lunch at the Coyote Moon Grille and then head for the St. Cloud Paramount Theatre for The California Songbook, a tribute to the sounds of The Mamas & The Papas, Joni Mitchell, Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, Jefferson Airplane, Fleetwood Mac, & more. In the mid-'60s, the music business migrated from Tin Pan Alley and the Brill Building in New York City to Los Angeles, California. The Beatles, the British Invasion performers, and Motown artists dominated radio airwaves, but a new sound was brewing in Laurel Canyon. Folk, country, pop, mysticism, rock, and even show tunes blended together, and every record executive was on the lookout for that new folk/rock sound. And that's just the beginning of the stories and sounds born in California.
