    Want to learn to crochet? Afraid to try? Come learn with teacher and crochet designer Abbey Swanson of the Firefly Hook. We will learn the basics of crochet and make a cowl. Everyone leaves with a cowl around their neck! And if you have crochet experience you can learn a new stitch and expand your crochet skills. No experience necessary. Supplies included.     Level 1 Introduction to Water SkillsPrerequisite: Students must be at least 6 years old Learn water safety awareness and basic aquatic skills Skill development includes: Blow bubbles and submerge face, Float on front and back with support, Swim on front and back with support, Basic water safety rules.

    Level 2 Fundamental Aquatic SkillsPrerequisite: Students must have completed Level 1 or have equivalent skills. This level marks the beginning of locomotion water skills. Students perform skills without assistance and develop arm and leg action to build a foundation for future aquatic stroke development. Skill development includes: Submerge entire head, Swim on front and back 5 body lengths, Roll over front to back, back to front, Float and glide on front and back.

    Level 3 Stroke DevelopmentPrerequisite: Students must have completed Level 2 or have equivalent skills. Level 3 will build on Level 2 skills by providing additional guided practice in deeper water with increased distance and times. Skill development includes: Jump into deep water & tread water 30 seconds, Diving from a sitting and kneeling position, Rotary breathing, Front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke 15 yards, Swim using the dolphin kick for 3-5 body lengths.

    Level 4 Stroke ImprovementPrerequisite: Students must have completed Level 3 or have equivalent skills. Students improve skill level learned in Level 3 Endurance practice for front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, side stroke, and breast stroke. Skill development includes: Swim front crawl and elementary backstroke for 25 yards each, Swim sidestroke, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly 15 yards, Perform open turns on front and back. Perform a feet-first surface dive and swim underwater.

    Level 5 Stroke RefinementPrerequisite: Students must have completed Level 4 or have equivalent skills. Students refine performance of all aquatic strokes and increase endurance. Skill development includes: Perform a long shallow dive, Perform tuck and pick surface dives, Perform flip turns, Swim front crawl and elementary backstroke for 50 yards, Swim butterfly, back crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke for 25 yards.

  • Morning Gentle Yoga

    MORNING GENTLE YOGALearn your poses with an emphasis on breathing, physical awareness and relaxation. The foundations for this class will be proper alignment, breathing techniques and guided meditation. There will be modifications of poses and the option to use chairs and blocks to help the student with poses. Dress in loose comfortable clothing. Bring a small blanket, a strap and your own yoga mat. Some yoga mats, blocks, straps, and blankets will be available for use.*New- in association with the Veterans Yoga Project, this class will be offered for free to veterans.     PARENT & CHILD(AGE 7 PLUS) DANCE LESSON Learn a few fun steps for any event coming up. Age 7 and up, all to attend, couple not required.     Preschool 1 (Ages 4 –5) Introduction to Water SkillsThere are no prerequisite skills for this class. Preschool swimmers learn to feel comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely. Fundamental aquatic skills are taught to develop good swimming habits and safe practices in and around the pool. Water safety, lifejacket use, and development of safe practices around the water. Skill development includes: Blow bubbles and submerge face, Float on front and back with support, Basic water safety rules.

    Preschool 3 (Ages 4 –5) Stroke DevelopmentPrerequisite: Students must have completed Preschool Level 2, ready to learn and practice skills independently or have equivalent skills. Children will build on skills learned in Preschool Level 2 through additional practice with increased emphasis on distance, times and deeper water. Continuation of water safety, life jacket use, and development of safe practices around the water. Skill development includes: Jump into deep water, Submerge and retrieve an object, Swim front crawl and back crawl for 5 body lengths, Tread water, survival float and back float for 15 seconds.

    Enjoy swimming with your child and learn fundamental safety and aquatic skills. Aquatic activities provide experiences to help children become comfortable with the water. Explore with assistance - blowing bubbles, submersion of eyes, nose and/or mouth, floating on front and back, changing body position in the water, arm and leg movements and more. Introduction to lifejacket and water safety topics. 30 minute lessons.

    POWER YOGASet to music, this challenging and rewarding class will help build strength, increase flexibility, and find focus.Power Yoga is a Vinyasa yoga class, meaning students flow through yoga sequence linking each breath to a different posture.The movement helps build heat within the body and allow participants to sink deeper into each posture.This class is perfect for beginning and intermediate yogis.We’ll spend time in the first few sessions breaking down the postures and flowing at a moderate pace to help learn or refine the fundamentals of vinyasa yoga.
