    ADAPTIVE Y.O.G.A. TEACHER TRAINING This experiential one day workshop expands the yoga instructor’s awareness and ability to create access to the practice of yoga for anybody that attends their classes, regardless of age, size, gender, color and/or ability. The Morning Session begins with an introduction to accessibility, yoga philosophy, safety and challenges people may bring into class using many props to simulate and explore through all 5 senses. The Afternoon Session will lead participants through an introduction to chair yoga and creating a mixed mat/chair/wheelchair/wall/floor –class. Participants will then use their new knowledge to witness and assist a one-hour Community Adaptive Yoga Class. The day will end with a forum to discuss their observations and an opportunity to review and ask questions. The workshop is open to individuals who have completed or are taking a 200 YTT. Also we would like to invite non-certified instructors who have taught a minimum of 200 hours. Soon after you register you will receive an email with a questionnaire and online reading/video portion of the workshop from our instructor.     Set to music, this all-levels class will help build strength, increase flexibility, and focus. Vinyasa yoga means students flow through yoga sequence linking each breath to a different posture.     Come out and try this new class to get yourself moving in our new fitness room. Chair yoga is a general term for practices that modify yoga poses so that they can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions. While seated on chairs, students can do versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild backbends. *NEW in association with the Veterans Yoga Project, this class will be offered for free to veterans. It includes people with physical, developmental and invisible different-abilities, such as chronic illness, emotional challenge or PTSD.     Gangsters/Cherokee Tavern/Fort Snelling National Cemetery Tour Wednesday, June 17 We’ll begin with the St. Paul Gangster Tour. This is the real gangster tour… not the politicians. Our costumed guide will take us to sites of nightclubs, kidnappings, and gun battles associated with the 1930’s gangsters like John Dillinger, Ma Barker and Babyface Nelson. We’ll see where the gangsters lived it up as they planned and executed some of the most notorious crimes ever perpetrated in the upper Midwest. We’ll go past the most infamous gangster hideouts and the famous nightclubs where many gangsters spent time socializing with the public. A wonderful included bbq rib and baked ham buffet lunch at the Cherokee Tavern follows. Our final stop is also the final stop for many of our honored veterans and their spouses. Fort Snelling National Cemetery was established on July 14, 1939. The cemetery serves over 1.4 million veterans in the 5-state area. Over 4,900 burials are conducted each year, and Fort Snelling National Cemetery is the 4th busiest and 10th largest cemetery in the National Cemetery Administration. We’ll be treated to a fully guided drive-through tour and will get to see many of the day-to-day activities that take place there. Bring your questions.
